Vile Parle based RTI activist attacked by unidentified men

Two unidentified men attacked Vile Parle based RTI activist Sadanand Satam, 44, on Sunday in broad daylight. Satam who sustained injuries on his head was attacked on Mahant Road in Vile Parle (E). He was lying unconscious for a few minutes after the attack following which he walked to his friend’s home once he regained consciousness.
Police is investigating the case but they have no leads about the attackers so far.
Satam said he does not suspect anyone. Talking to iamin, he said, “The assailants were speaking in Hindi and asked me ‘Kal kya kiya re?’ (what did you do yesterday). They suddenly attacked me with a sharp weapon. My friend then took me to Babasaheb Gawde Hospital.”
Satam has been filing RTIs on civic issues for many years now. He adds, “I have fought for many people. I have filed many RTIs on roads and shops. I have found out about illegal activities by shop owners but I have never been physically attacked like this."
Satam wants the police to take strict action against the attackers. He expressed unhappiness with the speed of the police investigations. Investigation officer Vasant Devkate was unavailable for comment.
