EXCLUSIVE: Shohrabuddin Sheikh was killed at point-blank range

Sohrabuddin Sheikh was shot dead at point-blank range, reveals his post mortem report exclusively accessed by Daily Bhaskar.  
According to the autopsy report obtained through an RTI query, five gun shots fired from very close range were found on Sohrabuddin's body. Three shots were found on his legs, one on upper part of the body and one in the head that left an exit wound of 1.2 cm in the head.  
The post-mortem report clearly shows that shots were fired in the downward direction, meaning thereby that Shohrabuddin was lying down or kneeling down at the time of his alleged encounter.  
This proves wrong the police version of the sequence of events that he was attempting to escape when was shot at.  
The post-mortem was jointly carried out by a team of doctors belonging to Department of Forensic Medicine, B J Medical College and Ahmedabad Civil Hospital.
Sohrabuddin was killed at 4 am on November 26, 2005 in Gandhinagar in a joint operation conducted by the Gujarat and Rajasthan police.  
He along with his wife Kauser Bi was allegedly picked up by Gujarat Police's Anti-Terrorism Squad from Hyderabad.
The 'state-managed' encounter has once again hit headlines with the allegations of involvement of Gulab Chand Kataria, Leader of Opposition in Rajasthan Assembly and former Home Minister of the state.  
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) booked Kataria for murder, hatching conspiracy of the murder and destroying evidences.
Apart from Kataria, the CBI also charged Andhra Pradesh Inspector General of Police (Intelligence) N Balasubramanyam, Director of RK Marble Vimal Patni and another Andhra Pradesh Police officer G Srinivasa Rao with murder, kidnapping, wrongful confinement and causing disappearance of evidence.
