“3 RTI activists had demanded Honda activa”: Gram Panchayat members.

It is learnt that three RTI activists demanded for a Honda active in the name of finding out the truth. Reacting to the remark to the media by Macha Leima RTI Apunba Lup Nupi regarding the crisis of the internal matter of Thongju Part – 2, Gram Panchyat of Imphal East District, job card holders of the Gram Panchayat made the statement against three activists.

Speaking  at a press meet along with job card holders of the Gram Panchayat at Ibudou Thongju Lakpa Laibung on Friday in the evening, the spokesperson Athokpam Leibaklotpi Devi said that the statement by Macha Leima RTI Apunba Lup that three RTI petitioners were beaten and publicly disgraced by the former Pradhan and ward members was baseless.

The former pradhan and members are not involved in going to the residences of activists of the RTI Apunba Nupi Lup, Thongju namely Kakchingtabam Ongbi Sophia Devi, Takhellambam Vhabini Devi and Gurumayum (O) Lakhsmi and calling them out, she said.

Expressing that there is no dissatisfaction of job card holders with former Pradhan and members of Thongju Part 2, the spokesperson further said that they supported the filing of the RTI petition to find out the truth regarding various schemes including MGNREGS for which job card holders donated some amount of money and gave it so as to help the three RTI activists.

Kangujam Rajen, Former Member of Basikhong Jilla Parishad disclosed that the three RTI activists called on him to buy an activa Honda for each of them.
