Nicobar Times: A&N: Saturday, June 21, 2025.
In a major boost to transparency and digital governance, the Andaman and Nicobar Administration has completed the full integration of all its departments with the Central Right to Information (RTI) Portal https://rtionline.gov.in.
The move enables citizens to file RTI applications and first appeals online, along with making payments digitally, thereby streamlining the process and enhancing accessibility to government services.
This initiative aligns with the broader goal of promoting e-governance and ensuring that the Right to Information Act, 2005, remains effective and citizen-centric in the digital age. Through the portal, applicants can now not only submit queries but also track their status and receive department responses from a single, unified platform.
The Administration’s step is expected to empower citizens further and foster a more transparent and accountable governance framework in the islands.
