Around 200 MBBS/MD students participated in a workshop held at Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS) to raise awareness about the Right to Information Act.
Dr Rahul Singh, team head of the RTI Online team in the Uttar Pradesh govt, was the keynote speaker. He provided detailed information on the RTI Act, 2005, the Uttar Pradesh RTI Rules, 2015, and the Public Service Guarantee Act, 2011.
Director Prof CM Singh emphasised the importance of the RTI Act in ensuring transparency and accountability in govt work.
Prof Pradyumna Singh, dean of the institute, highlighted how RTI laws help prevent corruption, promote citizens' rights, and aid in administrative reforms.
The event was supported by the institution's first appeal officer Dr SD Kandpal and public information officer Dr Piyush Kariwala.
