Responding to an RTI, the public information officer of the high court said that more than 3.5 lakh cases are awaiting judgment in various courts in the state. Out of the 3.5 lakh cases, a total of 44,512 are pending in high court. The number of pending cases in the courts of Uttarakhand has more than doubled in last eight years, the RTI query revealed.
