The Arunachal Pradesh Information Commission has imposed a penalty of Rs 25,000 on the Public Information Officer cum Executive Engineer, Electrical Division, Longding, Jomge Dulom for ‘deliberately’ denying to furnish information to an information seeker, Charu Giania. The appellant had sought detailed information on Deposit works, BADP, DoTCL, MP & MLA LAD, SPA, SIDF, DDP, United Fund, NLCPR, Trans-Arunachal Highway, DDUGJY and other sanctioned schemes from the concerned public authority.
The PIO has been directed to furnish the sought information on or before Sept 25 failing which the Commission warned of invoking section 20 (2) of the RTI Act and recommend for disciplinary action as per the service rule, an official release informed.
