In a case of
cheating lodged by one of the trustees of St Joseph's School Richard Moris has
alleged that five persons including to two employees of collector office duped
him of a total of Rs 48.86 lakh on the pretext of getting him a plot allotment
to build another wing of the school.
Moris has
alleged that the accused gave him false land documents with forged signatures.
"The fraud came into light after Moris had filed an RTI application as he
did not get the plot since past three years" added a police official.
According to
police sources Raju Rathod, Dattatray Shinde, Suresh Parmar, one Parmar Saheb
and Tundia Saheb both allegedly employees on collector office approached Moris
and told her that he could get a government plot in Hatkeshwar to build a new
wing of the school on lease.
"To take
Moris into confidence Rathod, Parmar and Shinde took him to Parmar Saheb and
Tundiya Saheb who assured Moris that he could arrange the plot for him. Moris
in part paid them a total of Rs 48.86 lakh and in return the accused gave land
documents" added a police official.
Police
sources said however Moris did not get the possession of the plot he filed an
RTI in collector office mentioning the survey number of the plot mentioned in
the documents given to him by the accused.
"Moris
was shocked to learn from the RTI reply that no such plot was allotted to
anyone nor any lease documents were released in his name. Moris tried to
approach the accused who suddenly stopped communication with him" said a
police official.
Later Moris
approached Amraiwadi police officials and lodged a complaint against the
accused. "We are verifying the details mentioned in the complaint and have
contacted the collector office officials to identify the two accused Parmar
Saheb and Tundiya Saheb named in the complaint" added a senior police
official.
