Two
government teachers shot at an RTI activist in Nohta town in Damoh district on
Monday evening. The RTI activist and journalist Jitendra Bhatt, who sustained
bullet injury on his back, is critical. He alleged that two government teachers
Praveen Jain and Pradeep Jain fired at him when was riding his bike around 6.30
pm.
A few days
earlier, Bhatt sought information under RTI Act and alleged both teachers used
fake marksheets to get job of teachers in government school in Nohta block.
Additional SP Arvind Dube in Damoh told media Bhatt gave names of two teachers
as assailants in his FIR. Cases under section 307 (attempt to murder) have been
registered against both teachers. They are on the run, police said. He was
undergoing operation at government-run hospital in Damoh at the time of going
to the press.
