Bombay HC asks state to produce papers on SIC appointments

Indian Express‎‎: Pune: Thursday, July 14, 2016.
The Bombay High Court has directed the state government to make available documents pertaining to appointments and transfer of the State Information Commissioners (SIC) in the state.
The two-judge bench gave this direction while hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by RTI activist Vijay Kumbhar who, in his petition, asked for clarity on who can effect the transfer of SICs in the state.
In a major reshuffle in 2014, Ratnakar Gaikwad, the SIC chief, had effected the transfer of the SICs in the state and Kumbhar had challenged the decision.
