Sekhar Das, Assam Chief Information Commissioner, has by an order directed the
Additional DGP, CID, to examine an RTI application submitted by Dulal Bora. The
order also directs the CID to give an appropriate response regarding the
application and provide information either fully or in part within 30 days. If
the information sought cannot be disclosed, either fully or even partly, then
the ADGP, CID shall inform Bora within 30 days about the relevant provision of
the RTI Act under which the information cannot be disclosed, an official
release said.
Dulal Bora
had filled an RTI application on June 3, 2013, and sought information from the
CID regarding investigation of financial discrepancy committed by financial
establishment Jeevan Suraksha. As Bora could not get the information sought, he
filed a second appeal petition on October 30, 2013. On hearing the second
appeal petition, the commission passed the order.
