The State
Information Commission will hold a convention here on October 20 to celebrate
the 10th anniversary of the Right to Information Act.
The
convention, being held at the Bloghatty Palace, will discuss the importance of
right to information and good governance, said a press release here.
The
convention is divided into two afternoon sessions. The first session, between 2
p. m. and 4 p. m. will be led by State Information Commissioner K. Rajagopal.
The session
will see interaction among officials from State Information Appellate
Authority, State Information officers and law students.
A street play
Nerarivukal will be staged at 4.30 p. m. The second session will see the
official inauguration of the convention by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy. State
Chief Information Commissioner Siby Mathews will welcome the gathering.
