Times of India: Ahmedabad: Saturday, August 22, 2015.
The Gujarat
Public Service Commission (GPSC) announced results of the preliminary
examination held for class I and II (Gujarat Administrative Services, Gujarat
Police Services and Gujarat Civil Services) late on Thursday night. Out of 4.19
lakh aspirants who had appeared in the examination, 2,960 have passed and
qualified for the finals. The date of the final exams is yet to be announced.
Sources said
that against expectations, the GPSC had retained the 1:10 ratio for selection
of candidates for different posts. There are 292 posts to be filled through the
competitive exams. The ratio of candidates per seat was higher in comparison to
the last exam conducted seven years ago.
After the
final answer key was released on March 23, candidates were hoping the results
would be releases soon as the syllabus for the final exams had been released by
that time.
In the
notification announcing the results of the preliminary exams, the GPSC has
advised candidates not to file RTI applications seeking details of their marks.
Moreover, the cut-off marks for prelims, mains and interview would be provided
only after the entire examination process was over.
