Jaripatka
police have registered a second offence of extortion against Sant Lahanu Nagar
resident Ravikant Khobragade, who claims to be a social worker and RTI
activist. Khobragade was recently arrested for extorting a doctor. It was his
last day of police custody when cops received another complaint from a loco
pilot and he was arrested again.
Khare town
resident Sunil Sukhdeve filed a police complaint on Saturday. Sukhdeve was
earlier staying at Ramai Nagar in Jaripatka and had a friendship with a
contractor. As per Sukhdeve's complaint, Khobragade informed him in January
that a person named Manwatkar had given a contract to some goon to kill him and
his parents.
Khobragade
assured to save him and demanded Rs 60,000 for it. Later, he continued
demanding cash. Sukhdeve claimed that since then, he was frightened as a group
of people would always be loitering around him and keep a watch on him. Till
November, Khobragade allegedly extorted Rs 2.91 lakh from Sukhdeve.
