RTI censorship move in Maharashtra

TimesNow.tv: Mumbai: Monday, 27 October 2014.
Fresh controversy in Maharashtra as RTI activists are angry after 2 government notifications. The activists allege that it's an attempt to muzzle the basic freedom of RTI. One of the circulars, issued in the last week of September, exempts the state Anti-Corruption Bureau from the purview of RTI queries while the other issued by the administration of the Governor-ruled state constrains all government departments from releasing any information deemed "not in public interest". RTI Activist Shailesh Gandhi has written letters of protest to the Governor of Maharashtra and the state Information commissioner.
