A 1984 batch IAS officer Rashmi Priyadarshani, deputed as
resident commissioner at Bikaner House in New
Delhi , has been accused of misusing his post to
influence people for borrowing money as personal loans and grabbing it.
Union minister of state for personnel V Narayanasamy was
approached by one Sharafat Ali, a resident of Gurgaon with the complaint. The
complainant also levelled charges against the senior bureaucrats of the state
government of conniving with her in the offence. He demanded a fair probe by
CBI or vigilance cell.
According to the complaint, Ali had forwarded the letters
regarding the allegations to the higher central and state government
authorities, including chief secretary CK Mathew and CBI. Union department of
personnel was informed about it. However, no action has been taken on the
complaint so far.
A week ago, the complainant again shot off a letter to
department secretary and public information officer (PIO) Anurag Sharma, seeking
to know the progress made on the compliant under RTI Act with the remarks of
the concerned officer. Meanwhile, the complainant said he feared threat to his
life. Therefore, he demanded information through email.
Additional resident commissioner Vimal Shah initiated action
on the complaint. He informed the chief secretary of the letters forwarded by
Ali against Priyadarshani and sought his advice for further action.
Then, Mathew forwarded the letter to the state department of
personnel for further directions.
The complainant also accused the officer of violating civil
service rules. He said the officer had been using government vehicle for
personal use. IAS officer Priyadarshani remained unavailable for her comments.
