The Goa
cabinet ministers have a total of 172 office staff members and the chief
minister ManoharParrikar himself has a strength of 30, information obtained
under Right to Information ( RTI) Act has revealed.
Minister for
cooperation Pandurang (Deepak) Dhavalikar has the least staff among his cabinet
colleagues of just seven staff members, as per the information obtained by
social activist Aires Rodrigues.
As per the
rules revised last year, the chief minister is now entitled to a maximum of 33
office staff while each cabinet Minister is allowed up to 15 staff, Rodrigues
said.
PWD Minister
Ramkrishna (Sudin) Dhavalikar, power minister Milind Naik, sports minister
Ramesh Tawadkar and tourism minister Dilip Parulekar have 15 staff each while
water resources minister Dayanand Mandrekar has 14 and health minister
Laxmikant Parsekar and industries minister Mahadev Naik have 13 each.
Deputy chief
minister Francis D'Souza and forest minister Alina Saldanha have 12 staff
members each while the labour minister Avertano Furtado has 11.
The documents
showed that the chief minister has four OSDs.
