Babus deny denotifying land.

Deccan Chronicle:Tuesday, January 24, 2012.
Senior IAS officials B.P. Acharya and T. Sanyasi Appa Rao deposed before the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) court on Monday as witnesses in the Maitrivanam land denotification case involving Tamil Nadu Governor, Mr K. Rosaiah. They said that they had strongly recommended that the land should not be denotified. The case deals with the denotification of 9.14 acres of prime land at Maithrivanam in Ameerpet worth hundreds of crores when Mr Rosaiah was the chief minister.
Evidence is building up against Mr Rosaiah in the Maithrivanam land case. Meanwhile, the Telangana Advocate JAC has written to the President, Ms Pratibha Patil, to recall Mr Rosaiah. The advocates also filed a petition under the RTI Act for files pertaining to Mr Rosaiah’s cases from the home department as the department had replied that it can allow only verification in person but can’t give copies. The advocates appealed against the home department. Sources said that if there is no favourable decision from the President, they would file a writ in the HC. In the letter to the President, the lawyers said that a case was pending against Mr Rosaiah under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
When contacted, advocate T. Sriranga Rao said, “After the ACB filed a closure report citing lack of evidence we filed a petition. The court summoned the witnesses B.P. Acharya and T.S. Appa Rao. They gave evidence on Monday stating that the land was acquired after paying adequate compensation. They also told that the land cannot be given back.” YSR and Naidu had rejected the de-notification. Acharya was then HMDA commissioner and Sanyasi principal secretary of the municipal department.
