BANGALORE: Rs 9 crore. That's how much the BS Yeddyurappa government spent on Sadhana Samavesha, the celebration of its two years in office.
Shockingly, a cash-strapped BBMP, which virtually runs the city on loans, chipped in with Rs 19.1 lakh and Bangalore Development Authority spent Rs 4.28 crore. The government spent Rs 4,47,95,829. The grand celebrations were held on June 25 at Palace Grounds here.
This information was obtained through a RTI application by Sirigere Thippesh, president, Civil Rights Protection Forum, Bangalore. He has demanded the amount spent should be recovered from salaries and allowances of BJP ministers, MLAs and MPs.
