Andhra Pradesh State Chief
Information Commissioner (CIC) Vajja Srinivasa Rao has directed all government
departments to strictly implement the provisions of Section 4(1)(b) of the
Right to Information (RTI) Act, warning that negligence in enforcing the law
will not be tolerated. As part of a review of the implementation of the RTI
Act, the Chief Information Commissioner conducted surprise inspections at
several government offices in Vijayawada.
Commissioner Srinivasa Rao reviewed the implementation of the RTI Act and pexpressed displeasure that several offices had failed to display mandatory name boards containing the details of Public Information Officers (PIOs), First Appellate Authorities (FAAs), job charts and citizen charters.
