The Avenue Mail: Jamshedpur: Saturday, 27 September 2025.
A national-level seminar is scheduled on October 12 at the Motilal Nehru Public School Auditorium in Jamshedpur to mark Right to Information (RTI) Act Day. The event is being organized jointly by the RTI Activists Association and the Jharkhand Human Rights Association. Jharkhand Governor Santosh Gangwar will be the chief guest for the seminar.
A delegation from the organizing committee recently met the Governor at Raj Bhavan, Ranchi, to extend the invitation. The Governor accepted and assured the activists that issues related to the State Information Commission would be addressed soon.
The delegation included Dil Bahadur, Central President of the RTI Workers Association; Sadan Kumar Thakur, Central General Secretary; Kritivas Mandal, Central President of the Jharkhand Human Rights Association; Dinesh Kumar Kinu; and Bijay Singh Munda, Central Secretary of the RTI Workers Association.
Dil Bahadur informed that, besides the Governor, Minister Deepak Birua, Rajya Sabha MP Professor Aditya Sahu, and several national-level officials will attend. Delegates working in the field of RTI from various states and cities across India are also expected to participate.
The seminar aims to promote awareness about the RTI Act, encourage transparency in governance, and provide a platform for activists and officials to discuss ways to strengthen the right to information in Jharkhand and across the country.
