Secrets set to be unveiled: Hidden pages of Hema panel report expected to be released on Saturday

Mathrubhumi: Kerala: Saturday, 7 December 2024.
It is anticipated that the information from pages 49 to 53, which the government had initially instructed not to release, will now be made public.
Thiruvananthapuram: There are indications that the removed sections of the Hema Committee Report will be released on Saturday. The order from the State Information Commission regarding this matter is expected to be issued on December 7. It is anticipated that the information from pages 49 to 53, which the government had initially instructed not to release, will now be made public.
Before releasing the Hema Committee Report, the Information Commission had recommended that pages containing personal information be excluded. In accordance with this, the government had removed pages 49 to 53. However, in response, journalists had filed a request under the Right to Information (RTI) Act, leading to a hearing on the matter.
Another key issue raised by journalists was the confusion in the government's list regarding the removal of these pages. The government had stated that the pages were withheld due to personal information and that there was an error in preparing the list.
During the hearing, journalists argued that the removed pages should be released. As a result, the Information Commission's decision on this matter is expected to be issued on Saturday. It is also reported that the journalists who filed the request may be provided with the details from the removed pages.
