Man uses RTI, finds Aadhar card forged

Times of India: Rajkot: Tuesday, 30 July 2024.
A 44-year-old man, Sanjay Soni, has filed a complaint of cheating against one Bharat Kuchadiya at Gandhigram police station. Soni alleged that Kuchadiya defaulted in paying him the full amount for a car he sold to him and also forged his Aadhaar card.
Soni said in the complaint that on March 23, he agreed to sell his car to Kuchadiya for Rs 6 lakh. Kuchadiya paid him Rs 3 lakh in cash and gave a cheque for the remaining Rs 3 lakh.
However, Kuchadiya kept making excuses to delay the sale agreement. A month later, Soni discovered through the M-Parivahan app that the car had been transferred to Rajesh Kothadiya of Keshod.
Soni filed an RTI application at Junagadh RTO and learned that a fake Aadhaar card had been made with his name and address but with another person’s photo. The car was transferred to Kothadiya on the basis of the forged Aadhaar and a forged signature on the RTO forms. Even the loan NOC form had a forged signature. Thus, Kuchadiya deceived Soni and committed fraud.
