The Information Commission Bangladesh (ICB) on Thursday warned two government officials for not providing information requested under the Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2009.
Among the two officials, Director General (DG) and officer in-charge of National Institute of Biotechnology was warned by the commission under the RTI Act for not providing information and harassing the information seeker, said a press release.
Meanwhile, the Commission also ordered him to provide the information requested by the applicant within 10 working days.
The Information Commission warned another official Assistant Commissioner of the Gopalganj District Administrator's office for not cooperating in providing the information requested by the applicant. The Commission has ordered to provide the information requested by the applicant within seven working days.
Information Commissioner Shahidul Alam Jhinuk and Information Commissioner Masuda Bhatti gave this order after hearing from the concerned parties according to the Right to Information Act today, the release added.
Apart from this, out of eight complaints, six complaints were settled through the hearing in the commission on Thursday.
