A reply received to a Right to Information (RTI) query filed by RTI activist Shakeel Ahmed Shaikh has found that about Rs 95 lakh of water bill charges are pending from the several govt bungalows which serve as the official residences of chief minister and cabinet ministers and also Sahyadri guest house.
Water charges worth Rs 18.48 lakh have been pending from Varsha and Nandbhavan bungalows since 2022 which are the official residences of Mahrashtra CM Eknath Shinde while Rs 2.73 lakh is pending from deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis’s Meghdoot bungalow since April 2023.
Vidyadhar Pataskar, EE, PWD, Malabar Hill Division said, all water charges bill are raised and placed on BDS system before March 31 only. “Allotment of funds was done and will be credited to BMC account tomorrow (Friday),” he said. Water changes from bungalows of several other ministers, including Dy CM Ajit Pawar (Devgiri) and minister Radha Krishna Vikhe Patil (Royalstone) are also pending. —Richa Pinto
