‘Protest nod rules to be posted online within 12 weeks’.

The Ahmedabad city police commissioner on Thursday promised HC to post on the official website the text of rules and regulations for grant or denial of permission to people to assembly and protest in public places. 

After the HC took the city police to task for not uploading information on the portal under the Right to Information Act despite the HC’s order to this effect, the police commissioner submitted that since details and text of 96 different rules, regulations, instructions and documents are to be uploaded on the portal, he may be granted 12 weeks and a report on it will be placed in the HC in this regard. The bench said that the court would grant 14 weeks to the police to complete the task.
