West Bengal: BJP MLAs file RTI over alleged scam in recruiting Group D staff in Assembly

Free Press Journal: Kolkata: Saturday, 09 July 2022.
Amidst alleged scams in different recruitments which are being probed by central agencies, BJP MLAs filed Right to Information (RTI) over the alleged scam in recruiting Group D staff in the Assembly.
Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari alleged that most of the staff in state Assembly have ‘false’ education certificates.
“If we don’t get a proper reply against our RTI then we know how to further our fight. Most of the staff have fake class 10 pass certificates. Such an activity has been going on ever since TMC came to power in 2011. I will do everything to bring the truth out and if needed we will also move the court,” mentioned Adhikari, adding that he will soon show all the proofs.
Slamming the opposition MLAs, Speaker Biman Bandhopadhyay said that recruitment in the state Assembly has been done in keeping to the norms.
“All norms are followed while any recruitment is done in the Assembly. Proper police verification and medical examination is also done before inducting a person. The opposition MLAs are making baseless statements. Three recruitments were done on Suvendu Adhikari’s recommendation. By such an allegation Suvendu Adhikari is showing his ignorance,” added Bandhopadhyay.
