The Forum of Landowners/Pattadars of Army occupied lands in Dimapur have requested the Public Information Officer (PIO), Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur to furnish information as sought in an application filed on August 21, 2020 under the Right to Information Act, 2005.
In a press release on Tuesday, the Forum’s General Secretary K Thong stated that the provision of thirty days as granted by the Act had already lapsed on September 20, but the information sought is yet to be received. It said that the forum “has been fighting for landowners/pattadars (whose lands are under army occupation) for about 30 years,” comprising about two hundred plus members who desire and have the right to be informed about their land,” and as such, requested that the sought information be furnished.
