Times of India: Gurgaon: Saturday,
25 July 2020.
The
revenue officers of the Gurgaon district are under scanner for the illegal
registries executed in unauthorised colonies during the lockdown period.
The
illegal registry of plots at unauthorised colonies has emerged as a major
concern in the city. Keeping this in view, the Haryana government had stopped
registries in the state till August 17.
Ramesh
Yadav of Adhikar Manch had filed the RTI to seek details about the registries
and filed a complaint. Yadav alleged that more than 1,200 registries have been
executed illegally in the last three months in Gurgaon district.
In a
reply to RTO query filed by Yadav, the district revenue officer (DRO) revealed
that more than 139 registries were executed in between April 20 to May 5
without a non-objection certificate (NOC) from the department of town and
country planning (DTCP) in the areas notified under Section 7A of Haryana
Development and Regulation of Urban Areas Act, 1975 as controlled area.
“Two
registry was executed in this period in Chauma village which comes under 900
metre area of the Air Force station in Gurgaon and as per the SC direction not
registry is allowed in this area,” Yadav said.
He
alleged in May and June this year, around 1,070 illegal registries were
executed in the Gurgaon district in connivance of land mafia and revenue
officials.
“The
registry has been stopped for next few months and the department will
investigate if there is any allegation of irregularities,” said a senior
official of district administration.
The
director of DTCP had recently written a letter to the deputy commissioner of
Gurgaon highlighting illegal registry in the unauthorised colonies in in the
district.
Entire
Gurgaon district is notified as the controlled area under Section 7A of the Act
of 1975 and as per the norm a land cannot be divided into plots without getting
an NOC from DTCP.
