RTI activists dissatisfied with the answers of SPIO

APN News: Haflong: Friday, July 20, 2018.
Joel Sengyung  a RTI activist of Dima Hasao expressed dissatisfaction over the reply of the SPIO & Sr Finance  & Accounts Officer, N C Hills Autonomous Council , Haflong  relating to the Government sanctioned fund of Rs 25.00 crores meant for the payment of pending salary of the  N C Hills Autonomous Council.
Sengyung along with Satminthang Khunsai  in a press meet held at the premises of ‘Nothao’ said  that he had applied for information in regards to the Government sanctioned fund of Rs 25.00 crores meant for the payment of pending salary of the  N C Hills Autonomous Council under RTI Act 2005 addressed to the Principal Secretary (T) NCHAC on May 29th 2018 and received the reply from SPIO & Sr Finance  & Accounts Officer, N C Hills Autonomous Council , Haflong   that out of Rs 25.00 crores, the NCHAC has earmarked Rs 15.00 crores for salary and Rs 10.00 crores for works respectively from above grant fund . Total amount spent on salary as on 4/5/2018 = Rs 12,75,65,823/- ( Rupees twelve crores Seventy five lakhs sixty five thousand eight hundred twenty three) only and also vide letter no. AC/PC/8(ii) 2018-19/7 dated 11 May 2018 = Rs 33.00 (L) for purchase of JCB under PWD Haflong Division.
Addressing the media person in the press meet he said since I am not satisfied with the reply of my RTI application I would approach the appropriate authority very soon but at the same I would like to inform  the people of Dima Hasao through the media what actually happening in the district of Dima Hasao, the fund meant for the salary is being used for the purchase of machinery for the PWD department and also the authority concerned is not being able to give satisfying answer of RTI applications.
