Anuradha
Baliga, sister of RTI activist, Vinayak Panduranga Baliga, who was murdered,
has approached the state High Court, seeking cancellation of bail granted to
Naresh Shenoy, who has been accused in the case and who is out on bail.
Sometime
back, an application had been made to Dakshina Kannada district chief and
sessions court seeking cancellation of bail as above. As this court dismissed
the petition, Anuradha has appealed to the High Court. The petition came before
a single judge bench of the High Court presided by Justice Srinivas Harish
Kumar on Friday July 27.
The bench
ordered issuance of notices to Naresh Shenoy and police inspector of Barke
station here in the matter. Vinayak Baliga had been killed on March 21, 2016
near his home in the city at Dongarakeri with sharp weapons. Later, the police
had arrested accused Naresh Shenoy.
Shenoy had
secured conditional bail through the High Court. Anuradha has accused Shenoy of
violating bail conditions and therefore sought cancellation of his bail.
