CM does not respect sanctity of RTI Act

The Curtorim Congress MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco has alleged that the Manohar Parrikar government does not respect the sanctity of Right to Information Act, 2005, in letter and spirit.

Reginaldo levelled the allegation after he was allegedly given evasive answers to the RTI's he filed regarding the DDSS scheme and also regarding the Commercial tax office building. 

Reginaldo said that it is a fundamental right of every Indian citizen to ask for information under RTI Act on government functioning related to its various schemes and policies which are implemented for the welfare of the citizens of India. 

“Many a time, it has so happened that Goans who had asked some queries under RTI Act 2005 over the government schemes, they are is provided vague answers,” Reginaldo alleged. 

Giving an example, Reginaldo said that in reply to a question on DDS (Deen Dayal Scheme) from DHS (Directorate of Health Services), the answer given was “exempted under Section 8 of RTI Act 2005.”
