An
application filed under the Right to Information (RTI) Act exposed large scale
irregularities in the government schemes in Moradabad. The State Information
Commissioner (SIC), who got the matter probed now claimed to have ordered
recovery of government money as well as legal action against the guilty.

Usman disclosed here on Friday afternoon that one social activist had filed an
application under the RTI Act with the chief development officer (CDO) of
Moradabad, asking that how much fund has been sanctioned for development of
Mudiya Mulukpur panchayat under Mundapande block of the district in last two
years, how much money was spent and how much remained unspent. He also asked
details of how much money has been used for cleaniness, forestation, how many
children of primary school have been provided scholarship, how much money has
been spend under MGNAREGA etc.

that when the CDO not replied to the query, the activist again filed a reminded
but when he not received any reply, a filed an appeal in his court seeking
action in the matter. SIC revealed that he immediately ordered the CDO
Moradabad to conduct an enquiry into the above matter and file a complete
report in his court within a month.
Usman said
that finally Athar Faheem, the gram secretary of Mundapande block appeared in
his court on behalf of CDO of Moradabad and revealed that a probe conducted by
the department already found large scale irregularities in the above matter.
Usman said that after going through the probe report, he ordered to take action
against the guilty officials including the then pradhan of the Mudiya Mulukpur
and that to recover the entire money from them. He also ordered to initiate
legal proceedings in the matter.
