Municipal
commissioner Kunal Kumar’s latest circular allowing road concreting till
March-end has surprised citizens’ group Sajag Nagrik Manch that has been
opposing the work in the backdrop of the 24X7 water supply project.
“As per
sections 4 (1C) and 4 (D) of the RTI Act, the civic chief has to explain
reasons and status of the work suo moto. Section 4 (1C) states that all
relevant facts while formulating important policies or announcing the decisions
which affect public should be published, Section 4 (d) provide reasons for its
administrative or quasi-judicial decisions to the affected persons,” Vivek
Velankar of Sajag Nagrik Manch said.
The Sajag
Nagrik Manchtated that the issue will be raised before the state information
commissioner if the civic chief did not release the details immediately.
