Awareness programme on RTI Act concludes

State Times: Jammu: Sunday, December 24, 2017.
Directorate of Field Publicity (DFP) organised an awareness programme on Right to Information Act at Government Higher Secondary School Dansal.
On the occasion, Neha Jalali, Dy Director DFP and Rajesh Thakur Tehsildar Dansal were present.
During the programme, various aspects and provisions along with the procedure for seeking information under Right to Information Act were discussed by the field officers of DFP in order to make people aware about this Act.
Various means of communication viz seminar, quiz and group discussions were organised to make people aware about the aspects of RTI.
Song and Drama Division of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting sensitised the gathering by presenting theme based skit and songs related to RTI.
Neha Jalali said that transparency and accountability are the pillars of democracy. She revealed the importance of RTI Act for bringing transparency and accountability into governance.
She added that RTI Act empowers citizen to ensure that government function with transparency.
She also expressed her gratitude towards State Information Commissioner, Khurshid Ahmed Ganai for taking initiative in organising such programmes at various locations/ districts of J and K.
Sarpanchs/ Panchs of the area expressed satisfaction and appreciated the efforts of DFP in organising programmes on RTI for the awareness of locals.
Vice Principal GHSS Dansal, Narinder Singh also spoke on the occasion.
