Former
Legislature Secretary S Raja Sadaram and senior journalist Buddha Murali have
been appointed as Chief Information Commissioner and State Information
Commissioner respectively under Right to Information Act, 2005. The
three-member committee of the State government including Chief Minister K
Chandrasekhar Rao, Opposition leader K Jana Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister
Mohammad Mahmood Ali cleared the names of the two information commissioners on
Friday. Later, the file has been sent to Governor ESL Narasimhan’s approval.
The Governor
signed the file.For the first time, Opposition leader K Jana Reddy visited the
Chief Minister’s camp office Pragathi Bhavan. After a meeting, the committee
finalised the names of Raja Sadaram and Buddha Murali. Though, three names were
to be finalised on Friday, Rao reportedly dropped another name for some
reasons.
Raja Sadaram
has vast experience in Legislative affairs. He worked almost 42 years in the
Constitutional body. Buddha Murali was a
senior journalist and worked for a vernacular daily for almost 30 years. Though as per the RTI Act, the state can
appoint one CICand nine SIC, Rao felt that there was no need for 10 members, as
the state was bifurcated.
