Central
Information Commissioner Madabhushi Sridhar has observed that Independence has
no meaning if Right To Information Act was not implemented fully. Speaking at
the book release funciton of `Is bribing a family affair?’ on RTI and
misconduct of public servant here on Sunday, he said that RTI was a necessity
for the society. However, today the right to information has become right to
beg for it.
Man’s life
has no meaning if he has no freedom of speech and all government officers were
publi8c servants. `Once you are a public servant, there is no scope for
secrecy. But yet, information is eluding the society,” he stated.
