The
Anti-Corruption Movement Forum (ACMF) of Pasighat has alleged Mebo MLA, Lombo
Tayeng of misusing his power and position in getting contract works in the
names of his wife, son and family members, thereby embezzling crores of rupees
meant for various developmental schemes and projects in Mebo Sub-division.
Armed with
official information obtained through RTI, ACMF President Shoney Pertin and
General Secretary Omuk Aje alleged that construction work worth Rs 1.70 crore
in PWD was awarded to RT Enterprise owned by the MLA’s wife, and many heavy
construction works were given to the MLA’s son, under MLA Tayeng’s political
intervention.
Apart from
this, many contract works amounting to Rs 14.7 crore in various departments,
including PWD, RWD and WRD, were also awarded to the MLA’s son, flouting all
laid down norms, the Forum claimed.
The Forum
also decided to file a Public Interest Litigation in Gauhati High Court against
MLA Tayeng for his alleged corrupt practices.
