The Institute
of Chartered Accountant of India (ICAI) issued a circular on Saturday
restraining its members to not share any negative views regarding
demonetisation by way of writing articles or giving interviews to any media.
The ICAI uploaded this notice on their official site. This was brought to the
notice of Right to Information Act activist, Anil Galgali who tweeted
questioning the ethics to prevent criticism of the note ban. After which
Galgali’s handle too was blocked by the ICAI.
Many
Chartered Accountants criticised the circular after Galgali’s tweet. Owing to
displeasure and criticism, the ICAI realised its mistake and immediately
removed the circular from its website.
