Arunachal
Pradesh Information Commission (APIC) will celebrate the 10th years of
implementation of Right to Information Act enacted in 2005 by honouring the
best RTI activists on October 19 at state Banquet Hall.
Central Chief
Information Commissioner of India (CIC) RK Mathur, Chief Secretary of the
State, Chief Information Commissioners and information Commissioners of North
East States will attend the celebration.
Renowned RTI
activists, representatives of various NGOs would also attend it.
Discussions
will be held on Right to Information Act 2005 with reference to the functioning
of Arunachal Pradesh Information Commission, exemption from disclosure of
Information under section 8 of the RTI Act, 2005 with reference to some
landmark judgements of various High Courts and Supreme Court of India during
the technical session.
Discussions
on various sections of the RTI Act, 2005, including section 11, 4 and
shortcomings of RTI Act, 2005 and mechanism to improve implementation of the
Act effectively, implementation of section 20(2) of the RTI Act, 2005
(Disciplinary Action as per Service Rules) by the State Governments will also
be held.
