Chief Minister Pema Khandu in a meeting with the State Information Commissioners led by its Chief, Joram Begi in his office chamber today emphasized on constructive use of Right to Information (RTI) Act.
He suggested that the Govt and the State Information Commissioners must jointly sensitize people of the state about the RTI Act by organizing awareness campaigns in the districts.
The visiting delegations apprised the Chief Minister about the proposed decennial Celebration of RTI Act 2005, which the CM assured to provide all support.
During the meeting, issue of housing the Commission in a permanent building was discussed. The delegation also highlighted other issues that hampers the effective functioning of the Commission.
CM assured to address all the concerns raised in a time bound manner so as to enable the Commission to discharge its mandate unhindered.
Begi was accompanied by Information Commissioners, Abraham Techi, Eken Riba and Matheim Linggi and T. Dupak, Deputy Registrar.
