Information Commissioner Vijay Babu interacted with members of the United Forum
for RTI Campaign and its president Pulasetti Chalapathi.
The members
of the NGO welcomed him on his visit to the district. The commissioner enquired
with them about creating awareness on the Right to Information (RTI) Act among
the public.
He said that
the government would take care of implementation aspects of the RTI Act while awareness
should be created about the act among people.
Chalapathi
told the commissioner that awareness seminars were being organised by the NGO
on the RTI Act among students and government employees. Kurnool and Anantapur
district convenors of the NGO Suresh and N Jayaramulu were also among those who
welcomed Vijay Babu.
