The
appointment of 10 new teachers, who were hired in different middle schools of
Garhwa district on SC/ST quota, violating norms will be cancelled.
District
superintendent of education (DSE) Brij Mohan Kumar has written a letter to
Garhwa deputy commissioner (DC) Neha Arora, recommending cancellation of such
appointments. This action has been taken after Garhwa MLA Satyendra Nath Tiwari
raised the issue in the assembly during the monsoon session.
The teachers
include Anita Kumari, Rajdhan Baitha, Anand Prakash Minz, Om Prakash Minz,
Pushpa Kumari, Jayanti Kumari, Mithilesh Ram, Shashi Kumar, Varun Kumar and O P
Toppo.
During the
appointments in December last year, candidates belonging to non-para teachers'
category were appointed as para teachers. The matter came to light when
information was sought under RTI Act by a social activist Ajay Kumar Upadhyay.
On the basis of the information, Garhwa MLA Satyendra Nath Tiwari raised the
matter in the assembly, for which the education secretary, Aradhna Patnayak, ordered
a probe into the matter.
