Dist admin to intervene in 'failed' law student case

Times of India‎‎‎: Meerut: Monday, August 01, 2016.
Following instructions from the chief minister office, Meerut divisional commissioner has asked the district magistrate to intervene into the matter of one Ashok Kumar, a law student of Chaudhary Charan Singh University who had complained to the prime minister office (PMO) that his answer sheets were not evaluated properly. Kumar had sought the varsity to show his answer sheets under the RTI Act after he was failed in the first semester.
In his letter to the PMO, Ashok stated that he had taken LLB first semester exams in December 2014. "I was disappointed on seeing my results that showed 'failed' though I had written the exam well. Disappointed with the results I filed an RIT application seeking information related to evaluation of the papers. On September 26, 2015, I was shown my answer sheets. I found that several answers remained unchecked and I was awarded less marks than I deserved. I approached the authorities but nothing came out in my favour."
Ashok pleaded in his letter to PMO to instruct CCSU authorities to conduct re-evaluation of his answer sheets.
Ashok told TOI, "Despite sending several applications to the varsity, my request is yet to be answered. In second semester too I have cleared all papers but have doubts that my answer sheets were not evaluated properly. So, I have filed an RTI application afresh, but the varsity have not shown me the answer sheets of the second semester so far."
Spokesperson of the varsity, Prashant Kumar, said, "Ashok's answer sheets have been re-evaluated and his marks have been revised. He will get the revised marksheet for the first semester soon. Regarding the question of replying the RTI application filed for second semester, things are under process and he will get the reply soon."
