Information Commissioner Hafiz Usman has penalised eight government officials
with a fine of Rs 25,000 each, for not
replying to queries of the Information Commission sought under the Right to
Information (RTI) Act. Among them, four each are from Rampur and Bijnore of
west UP.
As per a
communiqué released on Thursday, eight officials were issued show cause notices
for replying to queries of the Commission within 30 days time which they did
not within the stipulated time and were hence fined.
The officials
fined are City Magistrate Rampur, Chief Medical Officer Rampur, District
Inspector of Schools Rampur, Deputy CMO Rampur, District Minority Welfare
Officer Bijnore, CMO Bijnore, Block Development Officer Kotwali Bijnore and Block
Development Officer of Haldaur in Bijnore.
