Sumbal man denied info under RTI, DC Bandipora says will look into the issue.

Greater Kashmir‎‎‎: Srinagar: Sunday, June 19, 2016.
A man from north Kashmir’s Sumbal has been denied information under Right to Information Act (RTI Act) about an alleged land grab case. Gulzar Ahmad Bhat of Chewa (Safapora), falling in Tehsil Sumbal, said he had sought information about land under Survey No 700 at Chewa Safapora from office of Naib Tehsildar Sumbal after depositing necessary fee as well.
He alleged that the Naib Tehsildar instead of facilitating his RTI application threatened him of “putting me in lock-up.” He said he was released from lock-up only after intervention by SDM. Bhat said he has now approached the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Bandipora with his plea.
“I am not asking for any favour. All I want to know is how some land under Survey No 700 has been transferred and what procedure was adopted for the same” he said.
When contacted, DC Bandipora said: “The applicant has allegedly misbehaved with Tehsildar which has resulted in some issue there. But if he has not been given information in time under RTI, he should file an appeal before me. I will look into the issue.”
