The
house search of a town planning officer of the Vasai Virar Municipal
Corporation (VVMC) last week has revealed that he possess 11 flats and nine
agriculture plots in Hyderabad.
The
Thane unit of the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) had arrested VVMC deputy
director, town planning, Y S Reddy on April 29. He was caught red-handed
offering Rs 25 lakh to a Shiv Sena corporator Dhananjay Gawde to not pursue
court cases against him. Reddy also wanted Gawde to go slow on RTI.
A
house search revealed that Reddy has invested in the 11 flats in Kukatpally, a
major residential and commercial suburb in Hyderabad, in the state of
Telangana. The purchases were made since 2005. In addition he has invested Rs
2.75 crore in nine agriculture plots in Hyderabad. The plots are in the name of
his wife and son. The police on Wednesday seized two kilograms of gold from
Reddy's bank locker in Vasai.
Gawde
who is fighting a battle with the ruling Bahujan Vikas Aghadi Party (BVA) party
to become the opposition leader in the VVMC had been pursuing cases against
Reddy. He had sought several information from the town planning department
under the RTI Act.
