With an aim
of creating awareness about Right to Information Act, a one day workshop for
students , Govt officials and civil society activists was organised by J&K
RTI Movement in association with Fallah Foundation at Government Degree College
Beerwah Monday.
Speaking on
the occasion founder J&K RTI movement Dr Raja Muzaffar Bhat urged upon the
gathering especially students to make effective use of RTI Act. He gave a
detailed power point presentation on different aspects of J&K RTI Act 2009.
SSP Budgam
Fayaz Ahmad Lone who was chief guest on the occasion appealed students and
other participants to use RTI Act positively and effectively. He said that
certain elements misuse this act which creates a lot of confusion within the
society. SSP Budgam said that if the officials of police department do not
provide information under RTI , the information seekers can directly approach
him. “Chief Minister is very much concerned on Public Services Guarantee (PSGA)
and RTI Acts.”
SDM Beerwah
Samar Nayak who was guest of honour appealed RTI Movement to organise a
training programme for Govt officials in Beerwah sub division. She lauded the
role of RTI Movement and Degree College Beerwah management for organisng the
programme.
PRO to
Education Minister Syed Muzamil who attended the programme said that Education
Minister Naeem Akhtar is keen about GDC Beerwah. He said that Higher Education
Department in collaboration with District administration would develop a herbal
garden and a boutique in GDC Beerwah college campus very soon.

whole workshop.
