Three Cidco
officials assistant development officer SM Wadile, senior planner R M Bankar
and associate planner Shubangi Bishnurkar have been fined Rs 25,000 each by
State Information Commission. The penalty was levied for delay, considered as
violation of RTI Act, in responding to a query on an open space in Belapur
being converted into a parking lot. The query was filed by Kharghar resident
Santosh Shukla in 2014.
While Mankar
said that the delay was not intentional, Wadile and Bishnurkar said that they
would seek a review as neither of them was PIO. "I took charge as PIO only
in January while the second appeal for RTI query was made on November
2015," said Bishnurkar. Cidco PRO Mohan Ninawe said that they will appeal
for reconsidering the penalty.
