Parents of an
RTI activist, who was killed on March 21 in Mangalore, and activists from
Nationalist Organisations Collective Friday staged a protest here and demanded
arrest of key suspects.
RTI activist
Vinayak Baliga, 51, was hacked to death while he was visiting a local temple on
March 21. Mangalore Police have so far arrested three persons, including two
contract killers who carried out the murder.
The probe has
revealed links between the killers and employees of Naresh Shenoy, founder of
NaMo Brigade. Police have issued a look-out notice for Shenoy who has been
absconding.
Speaking at
the protest outside the DC office, president of the Federation of Indian
Rationalists Association Narendra Nayak said civil society in Mangalore had
failed to respond effectively to the murder of Baliga.
